Take a break: Snacks, coffee and community at the Graduate College
Graduate school is rewarding but demanding. Between research, coursework, teaching and personal responsibilities, it can be easy to forget the importance of stepping away and recharging.
Free snacks and coffee every Wednesday
That’s where the Graduate College Student Engagement Space comes in. Each week, graduate students are invited to drop by for complimentary coffee, tea and snacks as part of Take a Break with the Graduate College — a casual, low-stress opportunity to pause, reset and reconnect. Whether you need a quiet place to study, a mental breather between classes, or just a moment to sip some coffee and grab a snack, this space is for you.
Location and amenities
Located in Interdisciplinary B, Suite 288, the space is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with free refreshments available weekly on Wednesdays. The room includes quiet desk bays for focused work, a Zoom-enabled conference room for meetings and a welcoming atmosphere to support your well-being and productivity. During finals week, May 5 to 10, 2025, the support ramps up with daily snacks, drinks and activities like puzzles and mindful coloring.
This initiative reflects the Graduate College’s ongoing commitment to supporting student success, both academically and personally and professionally. Creating moments of rest and connection can go a long way in reducing stress, improving focus and building community.
So come by, grab a snack, take a breath and know that the Graduate College is here for you every step of the way.
